20th Anniversary Moonbuggy

Please note there are several registration and rule changes for the 2013 Great Moonbuggy Race ®. These changes are in bold face. Please read all information very carefully.

Entries will be accepted for up to two (2) buggies/teams per school or institution. In the event that more teams register than can be accommodated for a given day, schools or institutions having registered more than one buggy will be asked to limit themselves to one (1) buggy/team. Additionally, for international teams we are only accepting 10 team entries from each country. Please fill out a registration form for each team. All registration information must be complete in order to be considered a valid registration.

International team registration: In an effort to reconcile increasing Moonbuggy Race interest from abroad with austere budgetary constraints, a registration rule change has been made. This change ONLY impacts non-U.S. teams.

All international teams will be charged a registration fee of $95.00 (U.S.) plus a non-refundable $5.00 handling fee per team registered. The $95 fee is reimbursable upon check in at the race. The registration fee WILL NOT be reimbursed to teams that do not cancel their registration by the March 4, 2013 cancellation date.

International Teams: Your team registration will not be confirmed until the $100 registration fee is paid. Pay International Registration Fees.

U.S. team registration: An on-screen registration confirmation will be generated after you complete your registration. Please print this copy for your records. Subsequent communications via email will provide particulars as to event schedule, where to report, etc.

**ALL teams are to email a team photo to MSFC-Moonbuggy2013@mail.nasa.gov by March 11, 2013. Be creative! Team photos will be displayed at the race. For the best resolution, photos should be 1024 x 768 pixels in a JPEG format.

Please note that the U. S. Space & Rocket Center will not receive any buggies that do not have pre-paid return shipping documents with their shipment and their buggies. Also, all buggies must be crated back up for pick-up.

The U. S. Space & Rocket Center does not provide a facility, tools, or equipment for assembling or dissembling moonbuggies.

Lodging/Hotel Allowance Update

Moonbuggy Team Lodging/Hotel Allowance Discontinued: There will be no lodging/hotel allowance paid to any participating Great Moonbuggy Race ® teams. Race organizers will, however, continue to negotiate with local hotels for reduced room rates.
